FCSI Consultants will leave this training having a better understanding of the different types of ice, when to use it and where to use for all types of foodservice applications. Attendees will also learn about draft in general. Different types of products that can be dispensed remotely and where this technology is going in the near future, as well as the obstacles to look out for with line runs and splitting lines in the field for multiple stations. Rack systems are getting smarter. New technology when specifying rack systems. How tariffs ar eaffecing USA manufacturing, bringing European style to USA made equipment. How and whyto specify open air / grab and go cases. 

ITV Ice Makers:

Presenter: David Hyttel, VP Of Sales and Marketing

Nugget Ice, ½ Dice, Full Dice, Flaked Ice, Gourmet/Shot Glass, BIG Cube, Block Ice, Industrial Ice – These are all different types/styles of ice makers. We will discuss the size, shape, and displacement of each style, where and where not to use each style and why. We will also discuss methods of cooling ice machines including remote, water and air. The challenges and benefits of all. Cleaning/Preventative Maintenance including water filtration and bacteria growth. Transporting and handling of ice. Ice is food. We consume it. Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to ice management. Last thing sizing ice machines. How to size an ice machine for different applications.     

 

Chill-Rite 32

Presenter: Greg Elliott – National Sales Manager

Draft does NOT just mean “Beer”. We are remotely dispensing all different types of beverages now including wine (both red and white), mixed cocktails, water (both carbonated and flat), soda, coffee and soon MILK. Benefits to draft versus bottles (recycling). Installation tips with line runs, where to mount chillers and when cold blocks are needed. How to split lines for multiple stations and the challenges with this technology. Chiller maintenance.

 

HMC – Howard McCray / Clabo (HMC)

USA Made products being affected by tariffs. How this has impacted production times and pricing and what to expect in the next year. Bringing European styling to the United States. Building Italian made product here in USA. Capacities, Sizes, Finishes, Parts, lead times and service support. Open Air Merchandisers. What to avoid when specifying open air merchandisers including drafts, exposure to the outdoor elements, air ducts/registers. Floor drains, evaporators, direct plumbing options. Curtains, screens and night cages. Island style open air. What is need to have these function as designed.     

 

Cold Zone

Presenter: John McFadden – National Sales Manager

Develop a basic understanding of heat transfer and the refrigeration cycle.  Going to review the four key components of the refrigeration system.   What types of compressors are available today.    Defrost: Defrost cycle, different methods of defrost.    John will be reviewing different types of rack systems, what works best in specific applications, when to use a rack versus single units.    We want to go over the R-1 drawing review process and what to look for when it comes to installation.   We will finish with reviewing the new EPA, DOE and CARB mandates by the government.       

 

This event will be hands on and seek participation from the audience. We like everyone to discuss their own personal challenges, problems and successes on every topic discussed.
